J.D. Program
Admissions
Each year, the Admissions Committee assembles an interesting and diverse class of students. We enroll a class whose members come from various races and ethnicities, ages, academic and professional backgrounds, and geographical areas.
The Admissions Committee carefully reviews each component of an applicant's file to determine if the applicant possesses the academic preparation and motivation necessary to complete the demanding workload of law school. While your LSAT score and undergraduate grade point average will certainly have strong impact on the Admission Committee decision, we also value the unique perspective your background and experiences will bring to the classroom.
Small First Year Sections
Western New England College School of Law offers small first-year sections. The small class sections are amongst the smallest in the country. This learning environment encourages more robust classroom discussion and gives students the opportunity to interact more with their peers and professors.
An Unparalleled Experience
Since 1951, Western New England College School of Law graduates have found success and fulfillment across a broad spectrum of practice areas. Many have ascended to the bench, while others have had rewarding careers in large firm and small firm practice, government service, the political process, and nontraditional fields from banking to technology, sports management to filmmaking.
The education we offer is rigorous and practical, providing you the necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences to thrive in the legal profession. Here you will learn to analyze legal and social issues. You will develop the ability to perform careful research and write thorough, precise, legal memoranda and scholarly papers. You will be challenged to articulate persuasive legal arguments.
In pursuing these goals, you will collaborate with faculty and fellow students, both within and beyond the classroom. Clinics, simulation courses, inter-law school moot court competitions, and externships are a few of the many opportunities you will be given to apply and hone these fundamental lawyering skills.
